A Year Full of Drama --- Korean style

Fact about me --- a Korean drama lover. A year wouldn't be complete without spazzing about a drama or two. If anything, my list of favorite Korean celebs is constantly growing with every drama I watch.

This year takes a different turn in my Kdramaland experience. Because this year I watched Korean dramas to my heart's content. Going from following one drama that is currently airing that month to juggling three on-going dramas that I can't put down even though my eyes are about to give up. What can I say, I've had a lot of free time this year.

Before the year ends, I have this sudden urge to list the dramas that I watched this year. I want to have a written proof that 2011 is a year full of Kdrama for me, this kind of experience might not happen again in the coming years, you know. ^_^v

The break of Breaking Dawn

Fourty-one days from today Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1 will be out in theaters worldwide. I'm sure I'll be one of the millions who will watch the movie for the sake of those who suck and sparkle. *_*

The Search for a New BOOK-TO-MOVIE Series

Now that the Harry Potter film series is officially over and the Twilight Saga will make its exit from the spotlight next year, I started a little project some months ago called "The search for new book-to-movie series to follow".

Fortunately, I've found some interesting books in Goodreads (that's where bookworms dig their holes. See you there!). I hurriedly downloaded the e-books, marathon read them and took some time to decide if I should join the fandom.

Here are 3 series I thought worth following (in random order):

A difference in Korean and Philippine showbiz

This is a short post but probably the most sensible post I have ever posted in this blog. It's something I thought about from the recent Kang Ho Dong scandal in Korea. (Read the news here and here.)
[Aigoo. -_- Kang Ho Dong-sshi fighting!!!]

[KPOP Review] GET OUT MV by JYJ

Time and again Jae Chun Su proved that they are talents worthy of being admired and praised and I will not tire of declaring that to the world. (or anyone who visits this blog site.)

I've listened to the entire album already and bless them for being so damn good in their craft. Their music is their life and I can feel the heart at work when I listened to the songs. 'In Heaven' is still my favorite among the four new songs... blahh..blah..blah..

[KPOP Review] In Heaven MV by JYJ

You know a fan can't get enough of her idol when she can't stop writing about them eventhough no one cares. [...So what? I'm a frustrated writer who happens to own a blog. More entries, more satisfaction, ayt? And I'm a fan! My idols are what I write about! *angsty mode*...] That is what I'm doing now. I'm back for another JYJ blog. (",)v

Spazzing, IN HEAVEN with JYJ!

This past few days I've been spazzing about JYJ's upcoming korean album In Heaven in my facebook and twitter account. Most specially the music video.

September 6--- I saw the teaser and my first reaction was like...

O_______O

Fanfiction spells F-U-N!

Fan fictions as defined in wikipedia are stories written by fans based on an original work. It is written purely for 'satisfaction'.

I am not a big fan of fanfics but it's not a foreign term for me either. I was in high school when I first read a fanfic online during the meteor-garden-fangirl phase of my life.. It was a story that had Hua Ze Lei and San Cai as the main couple. (memories memories... *sigh*) In college, I read only one fanfic. A Harry Potter fanfic that I borrowed from a friend. It's a story of a girl who came in to Hogwarts during Harry's fifth year and the rest I can only wish I can still remember.. -_-

GOODBYE HARRY POTTER

The immensity of knowing that Deathly Hallows Part 2 is the last Potter movie was what kept me from writing this blog. I mean, I've known for years that it'll end one day but it doesn't stop me from feeling so sad...

Well, I have to write this one though.. So here it goes... This blog is a sign of acceptance that there'll be no Harry Potter film to anticipate next year and the years to come. -_-

I'm not going to pretend to have self control because I knew this part of me will always be true...

[Book Review] Gallagher Girls Series

GALLAGHER GIRLS SERIES
by Ally Carter

I'd Tell You I Love You, But Then I'd Have to Kill You (Gallagher Girls, #1)BOOK 1: I'd Tell You I Love You, But Then I'd Have to Kill You

A boarding school is cool (because I dreamt of attending one), but make it an espionage boarding school exclusive for girls is twice the fun! The idea of attending school to become a spy is just awesome. Who doesn't want to be a spy anyway?

I enjoyed reading I'd Tell You I Love You But Then I'd Have to Kill You a lot. I smiled, giggled, got frustrated and held my breath along with Cammie.

What I like about Love You, Kill You is the retelling of the universal fact that no matter how smart a girl is there will always come a time when she'd do anything for a boy. No matter how many rules she break, she just have to do it.

I like that Ally Carter didn't push the idea of getting Cammie all madly in love with Josh to the point of forgetting herself and her duty. That there's a nice goodbye in the end. No matter how much I think about it, a romance between a spy girl and a normal boy is just not going to work and I will just have to deal with that.

THE CURSE IS ON ME

Now that I think about it, maybe the curse is really on me.

My Idols In Dramas

I'm not going into a full scale review on the dramas that I watched but I will just point out the things that I liked about them and why I watched/followed it 'til the very end. There is a reason for every sleepless nights spent in Kdramaland.

I love Korean dramas to the point of following three on-going dramas as of this writing (Lie To Me, Miss Ripley and City Hunter). At some point over the past few weeks I followed six but ultimately dropped three (Baby-Faced Beauty, Romance Town and Best Love. I think I'm gonna watch these when it's all done.) because of lack of interest on my part. So it's hardly a surprise that I will get so hooked today and go 'I don't give a damn' tomorrow. It takes a lot of willpower and attachment for me to follow a drama.

..... I'm going to stop talking now and actually confess that this post is just an excuse to write a VERY late tribute to dramas that starred my KPOP idols Wooyoung of 2PM and Park Yoochun of TVXQ. (But what I said above is so true) So I'm bringing it on...

Merry Part House of Night

Dear House Of Night,

I have decided NOT TO FINISH the remaining books in your series. Trust me, I have the intention of sticking with you 'til the very end. I even marathon-read the first five books in two weeks. The concept hooked me --- Witchcraft, Mythology and Vampirism --- that got me burried in my bed reading like a book freak.

[K-Drama Review] 49 Days

49 Days Pictures, Images and Photos

TWO THUMBS UP FOR 49 DAYS!

It's a story that ended the way I expected it but not quite the happy ending that I was used to. I've been lured into believing for a fairytale end but no, it didn't end that way. Curse you 49 Days! You've been playing with my rotten mind the whole time in a way that I can't complain because I'm enjoying it. =P

To start off, what hooked me into watching 49 Days is the awesome cast. --- Lee Yo Won (Queen Seon Duk), Jung Il Woo (Take Care of The Young Lady) and Jo Hyun-jae (Only You).

Why HoMin?

I am unequivocally a CASSIE. The East Gods know that. My circle of friends know that. And my Cassie friends know how I fight for Cassiopeia honor. So don't let the title fool you. It holds true to some of my fangirl beliefs but doesn't say much of how much a fan I am of TVXQ. I made this blog purely to answer a very disturbing question I stumbled upon on Tumblr. [StumbleUpon and Tumblr in one sentence. heehee]

The question goes "Did you just became a HoMin fan because you are a HoMin-shipper even before the TVXQ break up?"

[Movie Review] The Twilight Saga: Eclipse

This post was supposed to be written 7 months ago but I got stuck with a thing called life that's why I had it on hold. But along the way a fan has to write her thoughts of the movie, right?

The KPOP World

KPOP world is amazing. It is a place of pure entertainment and heart-fluttering encounters. How I stumbled upon this world is a funny and embarrassing story but I long since forgotten that embarrassing part because I can’t bring myself to regret the decision I made to enter and be part of this world.

ALL IS WELL ... The End Is Near

Am I ready to say good bye? It was hard to say good bye to some dramas that I only got to watch and follow for three to four months, what more to something that has been part of my life for a decade now. I’m talking about Harry Potter. Just by writing this blog makes me want to howl in agony.
