LSS: The Fault In Our Stars

My twitter news feed is filled with The Fault In Our Stars (TFIOS) related news nowadays and that's easily explained by the fact that the movie is just around the corner. The movie is set to premiere on June 6 and fans all over the world are atwitter about it. Fans are excited to see if the movie will live up to the book which, according to most readers, was a major cry fest. As for me, I have other reason why I'm looking forward to watching the movie.

Now is the perfect time to admit that I didn't shed even a single tear while reading TFIOS. Don't get me wrong, I love the book, I love how it explored human emotions in a situation like that of Gus and Hazel. It was both a heartwarming and heartbreaking story but it didn't elicit the kind of reaction I was hoping for. I want to cry with so much feels, damn it! That said, I am hoping the movie will do it for me. It will be nice if the film would be faithful to the book and I hope that this time around my tear ducts would cooperate.

Anyhow, with my news feed bursting with TFIOS news, I came across a song by Troye Sivan and is currently my LSS. It's not part of the movie soundtrack but rather a song inspired by John Green's most popular novel. Entitled The Fault In Our Stars, the song spoke volumes of the main conflict in the story. Listening to it in the middle of the night with only the sound of crickets as company made me think of the hardships that cancer patients has to face and how strong they are for facing it head on. I wish it was part of the soundtrack but nevertheless it's a great song.

Here it is:

The Fault In Our Stars
by Troye Sivan

The weight
Of a simple human emotion
Weighs me down
More than the tank ever did

The pain
It's determined and demanding
To ache, but I'm okay...

And I don't want to let this go
I don't want to lose control
I just want to see the stars with you

And I don't want to say goodbye
Someone tell me why
I just want to see the stars with you

You lost, a part of your existence
In the war, against yourself
Oh, the lights,
They light up in lights of sadness
Telling you, it's time to go

And I don't want to let this go
I don't want to lose control
I just want to see the stars with you

And I don't want to say goodbye
Someone tell me why
I just want to see the stars with you

Don't give it up just yet stay grand
For one more minute, don't give it up just yet
Stay grand [3x]

(I don't want to let) And I don't want to let this go
(I don't want to lose) I don't want to lose control
(And I just want to see) I just want to see the stars (the stars with you) with you

And I don't want to say (don't want to say) goodbye
Someone tell me why (tell me why)
I just want to see the stars (the stars with you) with you

With you
